My Story
My name is Dena Hart, owner of Hart of the Wash. In 2017, my late husband Ed and I decided to take a leap of faith and venture into the world of owning a small business. Founded in 2017, Hart of the Wash was created out of a simple yet powerful mission: to provide consumers with high-quality, effective laundry products that rival the leading national brands.
Since our inception, Hart of the Wash has grown steadily, from working long hours out of the garage at our home to opening our own store front, all while maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. In addition to growing our product line and customer base, we’re also passionate about giving back. As part of our commitment to the community, we offer a fundraising opportunity for organizations, schools, and nonprofits that include our eight county area.

However, none of this would have been possible without my late husband Ed Hart, who was the best human I have ever known. Ed’s unwavering support, love for our family, and belief in our dreams continue to inspire everything we do. His memory and influence are woven into the fabric of this business, and we are proud to honor him by carrying on the vision we all shared. Looking forward, we aim to continue growing our brand by providing exceptional products that elevate the daily staple of our customers.
Tom Nicholson
Another familiar face is my dad, Tom Nicholson, who is our employee of the month every month at our store front in downtown Park Hills.
At the heart of Hart of the Wash is our family.
Our children, Mady and Sam have grown up alongside the business, learning the values of hard work, determination, and giving back.
The Hart family continues to grow along with our business! I am so blessed –my heart overflows thanks to Madelynne and Daniel, Sam and Kaelin and my precious Lanie Jane. They are my greatest joy.
